LTSC's 30th Anniversary Party!

There are corporate representatives who sponsor and attend many community fundraising events and I've been told by several of these sources that "LTSC's fundraising events are among the most enjoyable of the year!"

This is our 30th Anniversary - and we want to celebrate it in a way that should make our event even more enjoyable!  In addition to our annual Sake-Tasting, we have an all-star lineup of Food Providers (see our 30th Anniversary website for details and tickets) and the venue will be the spectacular and brand-new Eco-Systems Pavilion at the California Science Center.

30th Anniversary Logo

LTSC has been fortunate to have had 30 years of growth while providing community services- and while we want to recognize our accomplishments, the greater celebration will be to look ahead at a promising future where LTSC will continue to provide relevant community services to help ensure a better tomorrow for everyone.

Come and join us - and let's celebrate together!

June Kuramoto

june
The renowned kotoist from the band Hiroshima will open the festivities for the 30th Anniversary Celebration. Born in Saitama-ken Japan (just outside of Tokyo), and raised in the Crenshaw district of Los Angeles, June Kuramoto epitomizes America's evolving art and music culture. As a child, she longed to return to Japan and found comfort in playing an ancient Japanese instrument-- the koto. Almost by destiny, a renowned koto master, the madame Kazue Kudo, protege of Japan's most famous kotoist and composer, Michio Miyagi, relocated to the United States, and began teaching koto— in June's family home. Using her grandmother's koto, June, only six years old, found a 'connection' for her life in the instrument and Japanese music.

Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program Receives $100,000 from Wells Fargo

Despite continuing challenges in the economy, the Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program (API SBP) received a $100,000 donation from the Wells Fargo Foundation as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support the Asian Pacific Islander business community in Greater Los Angeles.

Formed in 1999, API SBP is a collaborative of five community organizations, the Chinatown Service Center, Koreatown Youth & Community Center, Little Tokyo Service Center CDC, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans, and Thai Community Development Center.  Its partners have shared more than 140 years of service between them, are well known and respected for the quality of their work, the impact of their services and their standing in the community.   API SBP assisted 3500 entrepreneurs in 2009.
