Bank of America ​Charitable Foundation

LTSC will receive $20,000 from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to increase the development of affordable housing in Los Angeles’s low-income neighborhoods. LTSC will work with its community partners to develop 7 affordablehousing projects with over 500 units in various Los Angeles neighborhoods including Little Tokyo, Arts District, Koreatown and East Hollywood. These units will provide clean, safe, efficient and affordable housing for seniors, families and individuals.

“We are truly grateful for the support of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation as they partner with us to build more affordable housing in Los Angeles,” said Dean Matsubayashi, LTSC’s Executive Director.

LTSC thanks Bank of America for helping us address the affordable housing crisis.

Consul General Honors ​Yasuko Sakamoto

In June, the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles conferred the Commendation of the Consul General on LTSC’s recently retired Director of Social Services,Yasuko Sakamoto. This commendation recognizes those who promote friendship between the U.S. and Japan.

Consul General Harry Horinouchi extended his appreciation to Yasuko for providing services to Japanese nationals, students and visitors and her devotion to providing human services to Los Angeles. This is the first time a social worker has been honored with this commendation.

The Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program presents its 17th Annual Small Business Expo on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 9 am to 1 pm at Almansor Court Conference Center. This year’s theme is “Recipes for Growth” and will feature workshops, networking, exhibitors, start-up opportunities and much more. Workshops will discuss funding and financing, target markets, wage law, business success and relationship building.

A3M Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Join Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M) in celebrating 25 years of shared commitment to saving lives and making miracles happen at the Starnight 2016 Annual Gala on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. Thanks to the many volunteer hours, generous donations, and great kindness of supporters, A3M has been able to walk the difficult journey with their patients and bring hope to those they continue to serve.

LTSC has partnered with Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles to offer free one-on-one financial planning sessions. This is an opportunity to any questions you have about budgeting, credit, debt, retirement, estate planning, etc. A limited number of 30-minute sessions are available.
