DISKovery Center Class

LTSC promotes information technology access and literacy in the communities and neighborhoods we serve in Little Tokyo and throughout Los Angeles. Through the community computer center locations of our DISKovery Center program, we offer technology classes in a safe and culturally-appropriate environment. LTSC also has developed community-based technology initiatives that include Wi-Fi hotspots in low-income neighborhoods to increase access to broadband, a computer recycling and distribution program, social media projects like digital storytelling and blogging, and technology support for other nonprofits.
We certainly don't (and can't) do all of this alone. We depend on a number of volunteers such as those in our Technology Advisory Committee to conceive of and develop many of our technology initiatives. If you are interested in supporting our work, please contact us.

Students of all ages enroll in introductory to advanced level classes that cover a whole range of computer-based learning from basic computer skills to webpage development to digital video production. We train students at one of several computer labs in partnerships with community-based organizations in English, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. In addition to computer classes and workshops, the DISKovery Center also distributes donated and recycled computers to low income residents who have access to our free wireless networks.
