Quotes from Grace Iino Parents
“All three of our daughters attended Grace Iino Child Care Center in downtown Los Angeles. Because we were working professionals we placed each of our children at Grace Iino when they turned 6 weeks, which made us a little wary and nervous. Nevertheless all our fears were put aside after seeing the professional and compassionate care our children received while at Grace Iino. I highly recommend Grace Iino as an excellent choice for day care for young infants and toddlers.” --B. Onodera
“Raising a family downtown poses several challenges as well as benefits. Having a licensed day care in walking distance was definitely a benefit. The girls were stimulated by the vast array of toys, games and books. Grace Iino also had a wonderful and safe outdoor area that was well supervised. The meals and snacks were nutritious and the staff showed genuine patience and understanding to each child. I was especially appreciative of the strict hand washing policy and cleanliness of the Center.” --J. Brasel
“Grace Iino Childcare was a Godsend. As a first time mom, going back to work full time was a challenge and leaving my newborn with others was an even greater challenge. But the staff at Grace Iino made mine and daughter's transition much easier. They were responsive to my daughter's needs and bonded well with her. I'm also a stickler for cleanliness and never found this to be an issue.” --S. Yoshimizu
“The daycare providers really love the children and are extremely patient as well. I know this because my stubborn 3-month at the time hated the bottle...After the first week at Grace Iino, she was taking the bottle like a champ and had a smile on her face each morning we dropped her off.” --W. Lin
“My two boys did very well under the Primary Care model. They both came to love their respective caregivers, and I felt great peace of mind knowing that they were under the care of people who understood their individual preferences, leanings, and needs.” --S. Sy & E. Olson “Grace Iino Child Care Center is a caring, nurturing environment and a great stepping stone for preparing toddlers for preschool. Our kids were potty trained there - the caregivers made it so easy for us.” --L. Ito & S. Wong
“I work in Little Tokyo, so dropping off my two-year-old son to Grace Iino each morning is definitely a positive for my family. It’s awesome that it’s just two blocks away.” --C. Hanami
“Our two year old daughter has thrived under the loving care of the all the Grace Iino staff. They have many great activities, evidenced by the many pieces of art she brings home. I can't say enough good things about this little gem of a childcare center.” -–A. Trounson
“Today is the last day for my child. I remember those days my son started to come here. He could not sleep at naptime and cried a lot. You gave him hugs and held him all the time. Now he loves being here and learns so many things. I can't thank you enough.” --N. Kajiwara
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) from New Parents
Q: WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR WHEN SEARCHING FOR QUALITY CHILDCARE FOR MY NEW BABY?
A: Whether your infant or toddler will be cared for by a family member, friend, a licensed home care provider or a childcare center, finding high-quality childcare is one of the most important decisions that working parents will make in their child’s young life. If you are considering center-based licensed childcare, first visit a Center, and meet the Director.
Q: DO YOU ACCEPT BABIES WEARING CLOTH DIAPERS AT YOUR CENTER?
A: Yes. While disposable diapers may be more convenient, we definitely support parents who prefer to use cloth diapers. We request that you bring an airtight closable bag to store the soiled diapers and diapers must be taken home daily. A Ziploc bag large enough to hold one day’s worth of diapers will be sufficient. We ask that you bring a supply of disposable diapers to keep in your child’s storage bin, in case we don’t have enough to make it through the day. We do not charge an extra fee for cloth diapers.
Q: HOW DO MEALS WORK? DO YOU CHARGE FOR MEALS?
A: For infants under 12 months old, parents need to bring either breastmilk (fresh or frozen), formula or food for your baby. Once your child turns one years old, you have the option to purchase our meal plan for an additional $125 per month. You are welcome to bring food for your child, but everything needs to be clearly labeled with your child’s name. Our food vendor brings breakfast, lunch and snack and can accommodate most dietary restrictions with a doctor’s note (if for medical reasons) or a note from the parent (if for other reasons). We find that often toddlers want to eat what the other children are eating, but you are welcome to bring prepared food for your toddler, as long as it is healthy.
Q: WHERE DO I PARK TO DROP OFF AND PICK UP MY CHILD?
A: Grace Iino Children’s Center, operated by Child Development Consortium of Los Angeles is located at the West end of the building. There is a separate security gate entrance with a green gate. Parents can park on 3rd Street in 15-minute free parking spaces for drop off and pick up. There is also metered parking on 3rd Street, Los Angeles Street and San Pedro Street.
